Him

It’s definitely him. Same jacket as mine. One from the album. He looks so good in it. Bet he’s going to meet her. I should tell him. Save him the heartbreak. He might already know. If I know, he must know. Probably gave her a second chance. He’s like that. Bless him. I should tell him though, just in case he doesn’t know. He’ll thank you for it. Might suggest a coffee. You could go to Oscar’s. No-one will bother us there. He’d forget about her there. Yeah, tell him. Go on … tell him.

What if he thinks you’re mad?

He won’t

Yeah, but what if he does?

He won’t … you’re doing the right thing

Suppose

You saw what you saw

Can’t believe she’d do that to him

She’s always been like that

Bitch

James still hates her

Don’t blame him

I swear she enjoys it

Remember the school trip?

She’s such a liar

Did it on purpose

Bitch

You’ve got to tell him

I’ve got to tell him

He needs to know

He needs to know

Catch him up … catch him

Fuck!

Look away … look away

‘Nice jacket.’

Say something! Say something!

Too late

Too fuckin late

Bitch

I hate her.

This fictional short story was written for a 50 Day Project organised by the artist Amanda Billing. I get 45 minutes to an hour (not the project’s rules, it’s just about the time I have right now) to write a story, sometime between 4.30am and 5.30am. After that, the day is no longer mine.

N.B. The sketch image for this short story was created using AI (at best, I can draw a half-decent stick man). The words are all mine.
